Figurative Language

Figurative- departing from a literal use of words; metaphorical

Figure of speech- a written word or phrase used in a non literal sense to add rhetorical force to a spoken or written passage

Imagery- visually descriptive or figurative language especially in a literary work

Trope- a figurative or metaphorical use of a word or expression

They all make the writing sound better, and they also bring it to life in some ways. They are all away of using words.
